We Support India - Donations from sales will go directly to charities; Goonj and GiveIndia.

As we watch the pandemic cause yet more heartbreak throughout India, we think of our dear friends and the communities there with whom we have worked and shared stories for so many years.

We feel compelled to help in any way possible. As a first step, we will be making donations from Sahara sales to Goonj and GiveIndia, effective immediately. Both of these charities are doing wonderful work on the ground in India.

To those who are volunteering, helping the cause physically, or through fundraising, you have our heartfelt gratitude.

For many years now, the colours, the people and the textiles of India have been an inspiration woven into every collection we create at Sahara. Almost everywhere you go in India you see such vibrant colour - in spices, flowers, paintings and embroideries, glass and enamels, trees and nature - a great tapestry of life that’s also woven into their textiles. India has continually inspired my vision of celebrating colour and pattern through our collections to bring joy and happiness with every wear.

Having visited India many times over the years, I've developed such meaningful relationships with wonderful people and their families, which has been both humbling and inspiring. The pandemic, sweeping into the heart of these close communities knows no boundaries; we must help protect our wonderful friends and their livelihoods across India. By supporting Sahara, you are helping two reputable charities; Goonj and GiveIndia.

Here are some images captured on my phone from my last visit to India in 2018.

Thank you for your continued support. We pray for the relief and health of the people of India and around the world.
