Festive Whisky Cocktail With Honey Sage Syrup
We can't think of anything more festive than rustling up a warming winter cocktail, perfect if you're entertaining, or having a cosy evening in. With just four simple ingredients, here's our favourite cocktail recipe to keep you warm as the nights get colder...
Ingredients (1 serving):
Honey Sage Syrup:
10-12 fresh sage leaves
60ml your choice of whisky
1 orange peel
1 fresh sage leaves
3 tbsp honey sage syrup
Bring the water, honey, and sage to the boil in a saucepan over a medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes, then let the syrup cool.
Fill your glasses with ice cubes. Pour the whisky and cooled syrup over the ice. Twist the orange peel directly over the glass until you release the juice, then place it in the glass with the whisky. For that final festive touch, garnish the glass with a fresh sage leaf.
This cocktail is not particularly sweet so if you would like your drink to be sweeter, just add more honey.
