Delight your senses at one of the UK’s award-winning Christmas markets. The small but incredibly charming Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market features rows of handcrafted stalls lining the historic square, complete with its own ice rink. Be Enchanted at a Light Show

For an evening activity the whole family can enjoy, pack a thermos of hot chocolate and head to a festive light show. You can find an enchanting lantern trail of projections as well as the UK’s tallest living Christmas tree at Glow Wild at Wakehurst. For London’s alternative, head to Christmas at Kew, where you can enjoy the famous gardens bathed in light or Christmas at Kenwood, an immersive and captivating holiday experience taking part at the world-famous Hampstead Heath.

Ice Skate the Night Away

Ice rinks have made an exciting return this season, including large rinks at breath-taking historical venues, such as Hampton Court Palace, Somerset House and Alexandra Palace. The recently opened Battersea Power Station is now home to Glide, London’s only riverside ice rink, set against the backdrop of one of the capitals most iconic buildings.

Go to a Christmas Show

For heart-warming events the whole family can enjoy head to Royal Albert Hall, the home of Christmas in London for over 150 years. This year you can watch the Birmingham Royal Ballet’s rendition of The Nutcracker, sing at the Hall’s famous Carol Evenings or enjoy any of the unique shows put on by the BBC Concert Orchestra and other talented artists.
